"See You in the Movies"

La La Land is one of my favorite movies (especially if you stop it before the end!). In the 1950's, my Grandpa (an avid astronomy buff and rocket scientist - seriously!) would attend "star parties" at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, one of the settings in the movie, so I heard about it growing up. Then I saw it in the movie; it quickly became one of my favorite places to visit in Southern California. So it inspired me to paint this dreamy scene of dancers in the stars.

This is the original oil painting "See You in the Movies" by Lauryn Squyres. The piece is 36 x 20 inch canvas, professionally framed with approximately 1.75 inch wide x 3/4 inch deep ornate framing finished in a a deep charcoal black. The reverse features dust cover backing and hanging wire installed, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Artist.
